LangChain hires a lead for SmithDB, its purpose-built agent-trajectory database

LangChain's Harrison Chase and Ankush Gola unveiled SmithDB, a database built from the ground up to power LangSmith, optimized for storing and querying massive volumes of agent traces. It's serving production traffic at significant scale, with hard problems in indexing, query execution, compaction and ingestion for agent observability — and the team is hiring an engineering lead for it.
