Agent Process lets users define MCP-style tools on websites that don't support MCP

msign · reddit · 2026-09-05

Built for the WebMCP hackathon, the open-source Agent Process experiment lets users define their own MCP-style tools on top of websites they don't control. JSON workflows become parameterized reusable processes exposed as WebMCP tools for assistants like the ChatGPT/Claude browser extensions — e.g. createlead(firstname, lastname, email, company) executes predefined browser steps instead of the agent rediscovering the UI each time. Known tasks reuse processes; unknown tasks go to the agent. Running in the same browser context as the app being automated. Code: github.com/inlinemanual/agentprocess.
