Wayve's autonomous vehicles hit London streets with Uber in UK-backed showcase

The UK trade department highlighted that UK-founded AI company Wayve has launched autonomous vehicles on London streets in partnership with Uber UK, framed as proof that UK AI startups are turning frontier research into real-world technology.
UK government figure Jonathan Reynolds joined the team for a first-hand ride, with Wayve co-founder Alex Kendall also involved in the announcement — a joint company-and-government showcase of Wayve's AV deployment.
