The author warns this week's frontier-model demos deserve skepticism: some are genuinely impressive, others repackage procedural generation that has existed since the 1990s. As an example, a 2009 4KB executable rendered terrain in real time. Much of what gets touted as "AGI" is just LLMs configuring existing software and algorithms — though some of it is real.
