Ai2 fully open-sources MolmoAct 2 robot foundation model after 400K downloads; 4 papers accepted to CoRL 2026

Four papers from the team were accepted to CoRL 2026, including MolmoAct 2, TOPReward, VLS, and MolmoBot.
Ai2's MolmoAct 2 is an open robotics foundation model—an Action Reasoning Model that reasons about the environment in 3D before acting. After 400K+ downloads in weeks, Ai2 is now releasing:
- Full code and training data: fine-tuning scripts, every training dataset, evaluation rollouts, and the tokenizer training recipe
- Integration into Hugging Face's LeRobot platform for drop-in inference and training
- The freedom for anyone to adapt the model to new hardware or tasks
Ai2 argues open robotics gets stronger when researchers can evaluate and customize models themselves. The author will also try the Cybercab at CoRL in Austin.
