Any Human Ever: draw a random life from 100 billion people in history
NathanpmYoung · x · 2026-09-04
mattyglesias shares Any Human Ever, a web project based on real population statistics that lets you draw a random life from the 100+ billion humans who have ever lived.
You draw step by step: a birth year, a location, then a life story. Because population grew exponentially, most random births land near the present (with log/linear scale options). The author drew a life in Bronze Age Southeast Asia ending at six months old. Full data sources are included.
