The author notes SetFit has been around since 2022 and remains one of the cheapest ways to get a solid text classifier: no prompts, small models that train in minutes, any Hub embedding model as backbone (the intro snippet uses a ModernBERT one), and ONNX/OpenVINO export for deployment.
