Compiling MCP Servers Into CLIs Cuts Context 4.1x Across 9 Real Servers
SIGH_I_CALL · reddit · 2026-09-04
declick compiles MCP server tool schemas into a CLI: describe is under 500 tokens for the whole surface, and results come back trimmed via --fields/--limit with an 8KB cap. Across nine servers (258 tools), listings dropped from 236,818 to 58,309 bytes (4.1x). Also keeps stdio servers warm (59ms vs 703ms) and auto-generates adapters from existing MCP configs. MIT for 0.3.0, then Elastic License 2.0.
