- OpenRouter's beta openrouter:advisor server tool lets a model consult a stronger advisor model mid-generation at decision points, when stuck, or before declaring a task done.
- The advisor can be any OpenRouter model; multiple named advisors can be offered in the tools array, with at most one unnamed default.
- Advisors support cross-request memory when replaying transcripts, and the tool works across Chat Completions, Responses, and Anthropic Messages APIs. The executor model still writes the final answer.
