Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) will shut down on September 30. Neuroscientist Martin Hebart called it the end of an era: the platform laid the foundation for ubiquitous online studies in psychological science.
MTurk became increasingly unreliable in recent years and fell out of favor with researchers, making its closure a significant infrastructure shift for crowdsourced labeling and online experiments.
