Simulated Agent Populations Revive Bostrom's Simulation Hypothesis

Investor Ed Leon Klinger revived Bostrom's simulation hypothesis through the lens of current AI progress, with a six-step argument:
- Each model generation advances exponentially;
- We can already simulate entire agent populations and watch them interact (we are here);
- Models will become so advanced that simulations are indistinguishable from reality;
- Agents in simulations become conscious;
- Simulations get cheaper, so we run billions of them, each populated by billions of conscious agents;
- It is then mathematically likely you live in a simulation rather than base reality.
VR creator ZeroStateReflex agreed, adding a colder take: humans can't create anything more exotic than themselves, we only copy — angels and demons were our pretend escape, and extrapolating even 100 years out leads to the same conclusion.
