Per Andrew Curran, Bernie Sanders and Greg Casar announced the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act: pausing all US AI development, banning systems matching or exceeding human cognitive performance, with violators facing up to 20 years in prison. Quoting Roko Mijic, the definitions ("most tasks", "broad range of tasks") are flexible enough to be nearly unworkable.
