LAUSD quietly imposes districtwide moratorium on student generative AI use on school devices

Los Angeles Unified quietly enacted a districtwide moratorium on student generative AI use on district-owned devices this school year, disclosed at the first school board committee meeting on AI. Activist parents hailed it as historic; the policy doesn't yet cover personal devices, and New York City is moving to curb student-facing AI as well.
