Blogger @draginol posted an unsped-up live demo showing a 3-billion-parameter local model running in real time on an $1800 Asus Zenbook, entirely on-device.
He says the key ingredient is Qualcomm's NPU, calling it the secret to making local inference work this well. The setup can be run free on your own PC via his Clairvoyance harness, and he invites locals-model experts to explain the significance of what's shown.
