Oura, Once Deemed Unbackable, Files S-1 for IPO Seven Years After Series B
eurie_kim · x · 2026-09-04
Smart ring maker Oura has officially filed its S-1 with the SEC. Forerunner board member Eurie Kim recalls that when Forerunner led Oura's Series B in 2019, venture consensus was nearly unanimous that a Finnish sleep-tracking ring startup was unbackable.
She argues the ring's real value lies not in the hardware but in turning passive overnight biometric signals into compounding health data and intelligence that actively guide members' daily health decisions.
