GPT-6 Astra's no-CoT capability roughly 10x GPT-4, raising monitorability concerns

Tim Hua estimates GPT-6 Astra's single-forward-pass depth is under 2x GPT-4's, but its single-forward-pass capability is roughly 10x.
tomekkorbak adds that per AISecurityInst, Astra without chain-of-thought can complete tasks taking a human 30 minutes—a big jump from prior models. He warns this no-CoT capability externalizes less reasoning and shrinks the surface area available for monitoring.
