Developer ampixa released sanoTTS, an open-source TTS family pushing extreme miniaturization: the smallest model is 294k params (337KB at int8), running on a $3 MCU with 512KB SRAM and no NPU, with RTF 0.225 on ESP32. The family spans 294k–2.2m params across 11 voices and 6 languages, reportedly 1000x smaller than kokoro, with 2% WER. The 1.51m model scores SCOREQ 4.13, beating Inflect Nano (4.63m) and KittenTTS (15m). WebAssembly demo, npm package, and recipes for adding languages are available; code and weights are on GitHub and Hugging Face.
