The UK AI Security Institute's independent eval of OpenAI's new GPT-6 Astra measured a task time horizon of 30.9 minutes, compared to just 3.6 minutes for GPT 5.6 Sol (no-CoT) — a nearly 9x jump in a key metric of how long a model can autonomously work on a task.
