Amid GPT-6 Astra's ARC-AGI results, Gary Marcus clashed with critic DarlaSkyee, who accused him of claiming victory for hybrid architectures he once insisted neural scaling couldn't produce spontaneously. Marcus replied that nothing has been published about Astra's architecture — "you don't know how it works and i don't either" — noting every recent system has been engineered and hybrid, then blocked her. In a separate post he asks whether Astra is a pure LLM, has a harness, or is neurosymbolic, presuming it calls symbolic tools like other recent systems.
