'Intelligence without cognition will never achieve AGI': a reply to Brockman's AGI-era claim

Responding to OpenAI President Greg Brockman closing the GPT-6 Astra briefing with "Welcome to the AGI era" (with Astra first rolling out to restricted cybersecurity customers), a researcher working on artificial cognition pushes back: Astra is a very big deal, but intelligence without cognition will never achieve AGI. He is working on Artificial True Cognition (ATC) and argues that if Astra enables ATC, it might enable AGI by extension.
