Hugging Face says it will stay independently run and neutral after joining NVIDIA

In a personal note, a Hugging Face co-founder explains why NVIDIA was the only partner they considered: open-source AI risks irrelevance if closed labs run away with it, and Jensen Huang publicly defended open source earlier this summer. Hugging Face will remain an independently run, neutral platform. This accompanies the announced $12.93B deal with NVIDIA.
