OpenAI has announced GPT-6 Astra, pitching it as an agent that can do anything you can do on a computer. Early-access users report computer-use capabilities far beyond anything else available.
- Professional apps: It created projects, set up clips, ran full color grades, and produced first-pass edits in Final Cut Pro purely by clicking like a human; it also made clean thumbnail edits with deep selections in Affinity Photo.
- Self-verification loops: It uses what it builds while building it — inspecting elements, grabbing errors, and fixing in a loop until output is perfect.
- 3D standout: It modeled a ship from scratch in Blender and rendered a full 4K scene from it.
Early users say it unlocks workflows that were previously impossible, marking a generational leap in computer use.
