OpenAI engineer Steven Heidel pointed to the new Compaction docs for the Responses API, a feature for compressing long conversation state to keep agents efficient over long-running tasks. He also shared that with compaction enabled, GPT-6 Astra maxes out the ARC-AGI-3 benchmark.
