Gary Marcus says he opposes the Sanders-Casar proposal: he supports an AI agency and possibly a pause, but a permanent, unilateral ban on all superhuman AI research is too broad and the wrong approach — as he told the U.S. Senate in 2023. Software engineering legend Grady Booch stands with him: aim for a good AI future, not a backward one, and find a better way than this ban.
