A Reddit user reports that his months-long workflow built on ChatGPT's official GitHub plugin (not Codex) broke overnight: he used it to orchestrate ChatGPT, Obsidian, private repos and multiple devices so he could keep working in Codex from anywhere — the main reason he pays $200/month for ChatGPT Pro.
As of today the system stopped working, and ChatGPT itself insists the official GitHub plugin only has read access. He suspects OpenAI silently nerfed a core capability and is weighing a switch to a $200 Claude subscription. OpenAI has not confirmed any change; users relying on the plugin should verify access and back up their workflows.
