Google and HHMI release full male fruit fly connectome with 166,000 neurons

Google Research, in partnership with HHMI Janelia, has released a complete map of the male fruit fly brain and central nervous system covering over 166,000 neurons — the largest cellular brain map to date.
Science Corp founder Max Hodak boosted the news, saying a connectome is the single thing that would most accelerate his company's work, and estimated a mouse connectome is only $300M away — something highly worth funding.
