Anthropic previews Function Hooks: deep TypeScript-level customization for Claude Code
ClaudeDevs · x · 2026-09-04
Anthropic's Claude Devs account teased Function Hooks, a proposed way to extend and customize Claude Code: TypeScript functions hook into the tool via an Express/Koa-style 'next' continuation model, with side-effect tracking over a parameterized object for safety. Users could modify almost anything, including how React components render, while enterprise admins get fine-grained control over what's changeable. It hasn't shipped yet — feedback is being collected via a GitHub issue with videos and an architecture doc.
