Organizers of OpenAI's WebMCP hackathon say the creativity of submissions over the past 10 days exceeded expectations as judging begins.
Standout entry "WebMCP Computer" is an OS living inside the browser with WebMCP as its native control layer: files, processes, apps, windows, and the terminal are exposed directly to agents as first-class citizens. Sharing one URL hands anyone a disposable computer for any agent task — built on a ChatGPT Sites instance and opened via Codex's in-app browser. Examples include giving a coding agent a fresh machine to clone and edit a repo.
