Built a dual RTX 6000 Pro Threadripper rig to run DeepSeek locally when ChatGPT went down

When ChatGPT was down, the author ran DeepSeek locally on a custom workstation to produce a PC build montage: the 1080p cut took 10 min and the 4K/60fps cut 15 min, bottlenecked by MacBook rendering — model responsiveness was under a minute total.

Rig highlights: Cooler Master Cosmos Alpha case (75-80 lbs, all-metal, sliding MB tray), ASUS WRX90E-SAGE SE board, 8× Kingston Fury CL30 6400 RDIMMs, 2× Samsung 9100 4TB NVMe, 2× RTX 6000 Pro Max-Q, Threadripper PRO 9955WX with a dual-pump ASRock liquid AIO, Corsair HX1500 PSU.

Caveat: the board only accepts RDIMMs (the priciest memory), locking in some choices — you don't need this setup for great results.
