Runway unveils GWM Worlds 2: real-time interactive world model with 720p 24fps video and 48kHz audio
runwayml · x · 2026-09-03
Runway announced GWM Worlds 2, its latest General World Model that generates interactive real-time simulations: continuous 720p video at 24 fps paired with 48000 Hz audio. Built on its foundational audio-visual generation model, it lets users define the environment, subjects, visual style, physical rules and ambience, then steer the world with text actions addressed to any subject or the scene itself, plus continuous camera motion. Worlds continue from each input rather than following a script, so sessions have no preset length, and the model supports a player-plus-director setup where one user plays a character while another reshapes the scene. Runway positions it as a foundation for interactive entertainment, virtual characters, robotics and embodied-agent simulation, extending the original GWM Worlds shown last December with generated audio and richer subject/scene control.
