Cryptographer Matthew Green Notes X, Bluesky and Signal Went Down Alongside the AI Outages
matthew_d_green · x · 2026-09-03
Cryptographer Matthew Green observed that X/Bluesky and Signal went down at roughly the same time as the major AI services, asking: if you wanted to pull off a big cyberattack, you'd also take out communication channels simultaneously — leaving security professionals with little beyond Mastodon.
He later quipped that since people were discussing normal things, he'd assume the robot rebellion is not happening. A light but security-flavored observation riding the outage wave.
