JetBrains announced that its coding agent Junie can now run entirely on your machine with a single /local command—completely free, no tokens, no quotas, and code never leaves the device. The team says they picked and optimized the whole stack around the model: agent harness, model parameters, and inference engine. Developers call it a genuinely exciting push for local AI coding, though hardware requirements remain high.
