Leaker testingcatalog reports OpenAI is preparing a major image model upgrade, with in-app announcement copy already spotted: "Image creation got a major upgrade" promising "higher-quality results, faster generation, and smarter creative tools."
OpenAI was previously seen testing a new image model on Image Arena. A quoted post shows an ImageGen 2.5 announcement built into Codex, with the hidden modal forced on screen — the gate is still off for everyone, and the hero image was uploaded Sep 1. Possibly named GPT-Image-2.5; unconfirmed.
