Solo.io open-sources agentdesktop, a visibility layer to manage AI agents across desktop fleets

Solo.io has open-sourced agentdesktop, an open-source visibility and management layer for AI tools across a desktop fleet, addressing agent/tool sprawl and uncontrolled credentials (Claude Code, Codex, MCP servers, etc.).
Key features:
- Discovery & inventory: detects AI tools, MCP servers, skills and models on desktops
- Config management: centrally manages and versions native settings for tools like Claude Code, Codex and VS Code
- Sandbox policy: define filesystem/network restrictions once, translated into each harness's native sandbox config
- Identity binding: device keys/certs tied to user SSO identity and AI agents
- Short-lived credentials: provider API keys never land on workstations; a gateway injects tool-specific short-lived credentials transparently
Positioned as a complement to MDM: laptops are the first real production environment for AI agents and need tool-aware visibility, not just device management.
