Autonomous launched the Lamp, a fully-assembled open-source companion robot priced at $499 (down from $999), shipping free from Oct 29.
- Form factor: a lamp with a curious, moving head; motions are intentionally creature-like (hesitation, startle reflexes), and it aims its camera at your face to check you're there before speaking
- Physical skills: notices slouching, reminds you to hydrate and take screen breaks
- Digital skills: checks mail, books Google Calendar meetings, publishes to WordPress, reads out new GitHub issues
- Skill store: 70+ one-tap skills covering movement, tracking, expression and integrations
- Fully open source, with the repo public
