The author argues there's a correlation between how loud a startup is and its probability of success or failure. He says plenty of data has convinced him loudness is a red flag — it's most often driven by the need to hide lack of progress, and resorting to it only compounds the problem.

He concedes some founders can pull off being loud ("Trispers?" types) because they've mastered their craft, but most can't.
