Anthropic backs coordinated AI slowdown, but Dario spent 13 seconds on risks before 20 heads of state

Anthropic's latest blog post goes further than any other lab, calling for a "lawful, verifiable, effective mechanism for coordinated pacing" of the industry as soon as possible.
Critics point out a gap between rhetoric and action: at a Delhi event with 20+ heads of state present, Dario Amodei had 5 minutes — he spent about 4 minutes 40 seconds pitching Anthropic's Bengaluru office and Infosys partnership, and just 13 seconds on risks. The author argues that if leadership wants coordinated pacing, Dario should say it directly to heads of state, as he does with journalists when citing the 1-in-4 chance of AI going really badly.
