Hugging Face to be acquired by NVIDIA for $12.93 billion

Hugging Face co-founder Clement Delangue announces intent to join forces with NVIDIA in a $12,930,300,000 acquisition. Ten years in, open-source AI is at an inflection point: the community has shown it can complement or even replace closed APIs, but scaling requires more compute, support and visibility — which Jensen Huang offered. Delangue calls NVIDIA the 'King of American open-source AI,' with NVIDIA committing to strongly back Hugging Face on top of its existing open-source contributions. A landmark deal for the open-source ecosystem, celebrated across the investor community.
