An unverified report claims NVIDIA has acquired Hugging Face for $12.9 billion.
The post also quotes Jensen Huang on the value of open models: he recommends closed models while capabilities iterate fast (Nvidia itself uses Claude, Codex, Perplexity, and Cursor), but companies with domain expertise, sovereignty needs, or their own research need control and ownership of their IP — and open-source models are now good enough for them to build their own AI.
