Nvidia is buying Hugging Face for almost $13 billion

Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 billion, bringing the popular hosting platform for open-source AI models, datasets, and tools under the world's biggest AI chipmaker. Founded in 2016 and often called the 'GitHub for AI', Hugging Face will be scaled up with strengthened infrastructure under the deal, the companies said.
