Ex-Google X, NVIDIA Staff Found mostik: Models Talking in Latent Space, ARC-AGI #1 Claim
viglovikov · x · 2026-09-03
Investor ashvardanian introduces his early-stage bet mostik.ai, a 15-person team with backgrounds at Google X, NVIDIA, Perplexity and FAR.AI.
Core thesis: instead of asking whether open models catch up to frontier ones, ask why a frontier model must generate your answer at all when you only need its reasoning. mostik builds a protocol for models to communicate in latent space: hidden states pass straight from a frontier model into a small one running on your own infrastructure — no text in between, neither model fine-tuned — combining frontier reasoning with small-model economics.
Founder aimalysheva says the team (12 PhDs locked in a room for four months) took first place on the ARC-AGI leaderboard, details withheld while the competition runs.
