Indie maker tibomaker launched Squad (squad.so), an "AI teammates" product that connects to Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub and 70+ platforms, ships 50+ built-in research/scrape tools, supports custom MCPs, and runs jobs on schedule.
Key facts:
- Squad is the renamed MissionControlHQ, built for a year by brothers @pbteja1998 and @saidheeraj96, iterated for two more months and already used in production by real teams
- It runs on AI subscriptions you already pay for (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, SuperGrok), gives each teammate its own browser/logins and fine-grained scopes, and includes a Chief of Staff that routes work and spins up new teammates
- The author says xAI's Grok Bot "became our biggest competitor overnight" but claims Squad shipped months earlier, iterated longer, and is more mature — mocking that Grok Bot's bots share a single login
