Teknium of Nous Research stress-tested Hermes Agent by giving it a single /goal command: clean up its own repository. The agent worked for 15 hours, simplifying, unifying, optimizing, and removing code until the repo shed 375,000 lines.
The run used waves of 120 subagents—3 sets of 15—with each subagent able to spawn its own sub-agents, showcasing a self-improvement loop where the agent optimizes its own codebase.
