Dyson has unveiled CameraJet, a 3,899 RMB ($540) AI-powered toothbrush that combines a toothbrush, water flosser, endoscope, and AI image recognition in one handle, with pre-orders opening September 7.
- AI gap targeting: A 1mm, 100k-pixel macro camera and strobe lights under the brush head analyze 28 frames per second; the GapOpticalTargeting ML model spots plaque-prone gaps and sprays mouthwash in as fast as 100ms. Trained on 470k tooth images, 16M lines of code, spraying up to 0.15ml per shot.
- Fluid engineering: A 12.5ml tank with diaphragm pump and pressure chamber ("anti-gravity capsule tank") keeps flow stable at any handle angle; the dock's 200ml reservoir refills the handle in 3 seconds.
- Nozzle & brush: A cone-shaped spray replaces needle jets for gentler, wider cleaning; Dyson partnered with NUS to create plaque-mimicking material for testing. Dual-bristle head with 58,000 vibrations/min; RFID-tracked brush heads remind replacement every 3 months.
- Connectivity: Live oral camera view and brushing coverage stats via the MyDyson WeChat mini-program.
The piece frames this as Dyson extending its core motor/fluid/sensor expertise into personal care—same trajectory that makes its lineup increasingly overlap with Leifeng's—though real cleaning efficacy awaits independent testing.
