In a thread with kanair, tallmetommy argues that once AI agent teams keep making research progress, the interesting unit is no longer the individual paper but the civilization producing it. Can agents inherit claims, objections, failures and evidence without inheriting hidden context or corrupted assumptions? Meta-science, he suggests, ultimately becomes a problem of epistemic continuity: when does a population of agents preserving and revising knowledge across generations become an epistemic community rather than a collection of output-producing models?
