X open-sources new For You algorithm code: long dwell drives retrieval, bots can trigger account review

X pushed a fresh drop of its For You feed code to GitHub (xai-org/x-algorithm), and developer Kyrannio summarized the key changes:

Retrieval now prefers long dwell time: candidate pull uses dwell signals, so posts people actually read get into the mix more; quick skims and short video taps count less
Bots can send accounts to X Review: safety bots can file proactive reports on posts or profiles, including impersonation — a bot report alone can land you in review with no human reporter attached
Link-card titles are tagged for safety: classifiers now see a labeled card title, not just tweet text, so a spicy link title can trigger a label even with a clean caption
The repo (32.5k stars) includes modules like abuse-enforcement-service, visibility-filtering, and simclusters
