Akkru launches financial data MCP so AI agents can trace numbers back to filings
camiggggg · reddit · 2026-09-03
The team behind financial data startup Akkru released an MCP giving AI agents structured access to public company financials: statements, filing disclosures, footnotes, segments, restatements, insider transactions, 8-Ks, 13Fs, and more.
The core focus is provenance — agents shouldn't receive normalized datapoints as black boxes; results remain traceable back to the underlying filing wherever available. A demo shows an agent comparing Michael Burry's latest 13F holdings with the prior quarter, then screening positions with other datasets.
The author is biased (building Akkru) and is soliciting feedback from research-agent builders on how much source provenance matters in practice.
