Self-Hosted Agent Memory Failed Silently: Writes Fine, Retrieval Dead, No Errors
eldrugo85 · reddit · 2026-09-03
A homelab knowledge graph used as agent memory (with Claude reading/writing) silently broke: data intact, writes landing, but retrieval returned nothing and no error fired—an empty result looks like "no memory" to the model. Only a scheduled read assertion on a known fact catches it. Author asks where others assert: graph query or retrieval layer.
