Seth Lazar announced he, Gillian Hadfield, and Nick Caputo (with Zhi Hitzig joining) are building an initiative at JHU's Bloomberg Center to help society navigate the transition to powerful AI. Its core project, Governing the AI Transition (GAIT), aims to ensure leading research on post-AGI futures is done in the public interest. They are recruiting a GAIT director—an ops leader with high autonomy and impact potential—under faculty co-directors Lazar and Hadfield.
