Reacting to Sam Altman telling Alex Heath "I did not think we would be on a short-term trajectory to superintelligence a year ago. Now I think it may happen," Gary Marcus slammed the statement as inconsistent: just thirteen months ago Altman was telling the world GPT-5 could do anything a PhD could.
